About The Position

The Part Time Seasonal Stocking Team Member works in a public retail store, providing friendly customer service, assisting customers with shopping and product searches, and delivering fast, friendly checkout. The role includes unloading trucks, stocking merchandise, maintaining store recovery and in-stock standards, and supporting store programs and procedures. Team members are cross-trained in Custom Framing sales and production and may perform other duties as assigned. This position requires standing for long periods and moving throughout the store, with regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching. Duties may involve lifting heavy boxes and reaching high shelves using a ladder or similar equipment. The work environment includes climate-controlled public areas, stock rooms that may not be climate controlled, and possible outdoor work retrieving carts or unloading trucks. The frame shop includes a glass cutter and heat press. Work hours include nights, weekends, and early mornings. Michaels will engage in an interactive process to determine whether reasonable accommodations are available for essential job functions.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years old.
Ability to remain standing for long periods and move throughout the store.
Ability to bend, lift, carry, reach, and stretch regularly.
Ability to lift heavy boxes and access high shelves using a ladder or similar equipment.
Must satisfy applicable federal, state, and local legal requirements.

Responsibilities

Help customers shop, locate products, and find solutions.
Provide a fast and friendly checkout experience and handle cash according to standards.
Engage customers about the Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards and complete enrollments.
Educate customers about the Voice of Customer (VOC) survey.
Assist with omnichannel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS).
Participate in truck unloading, stocking, and planogram (POG) processes.
Complete merchandise recovery and maintenance, including returns and general store recovery, to maintain a well-merchandised and in-stock store.
Perform Store In Stock Optimization (SISO) and AD set duties as assigned.
Support shrink and safety programs.
Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), company programs, policies, and standards to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements.
Interact with others in an accepting and respectful manner, remain positive in difficult situations, promote the organization’s vision and values, and serve as a positive role model for other Team Members.
Cross-train in Custom Framing sales and production.
Perform other duties as assigned.
