About The Position
The Steward Lead supervises personnel in the Steward department. The role involves operating and maintaining stewardship equipment in accordance with health codes, instructing personnel on equipment operation and cleaning procedures, and ensuring department standards are followed. The position may also assist kitchen personnel and perform other reasonable duties as instructed by a supervisor.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to drive a large truck; a CDL or commercial driver’s license is not required.
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual ability preferred.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Become familiar with the operation of dishwashers, pot washers, waste disposal equipment, and other machines.
- Ensure machinery is operated properly and in compliance with health codes.
- Instruct personnel on equipment operation and health code standards.
- Instruct personnel on procedures for cleaning equipment.
- Ensure dishwasher personnel know which cleaning products to use with each machine.
- Ensure glasses, dishes, and other items are placed in the correct locations.
- Instruct personnel on correct linen handling.
- Ensure dishwasher personnel follow hotel and department rules.
- Assist kitchen personnel whenever possible.
- Perform other reasonable duties as instructed by a supervisor.
