About The Position

The University of Notre Dame is hiring a full-time Overnight Lead Dish Steward for its campus Hospitality department within the Operations, Events, and Safety division. The role is a key leadership position in kitchen operations, responsible for maintaining cleanliness, safety, and efficiency while carrying out core kitchen tasks. The Lead Steward also manages inventory and supports planning for banquets and events to help the team deliver an exceptional experience.

The position is listed under Rohr's and the Morris Inn Food & Beverage unit. Pay is $19.50 per hour.

Requirements

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and organization.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, bend to clean floor drains, and climb equipment or ladders.
• Dependability and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Oversee cleaning of dishware, pots, utensils, and glassware, following procedures to minimize breakage.
• Prepare the dishwasher, ensure items are loaded properly, and return cleaned items to their designated storage areas.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and order supplies and equipment.
• Coordinate with the culinary department to plan food, supplies, and staffing for scheduled banquets and events.
• Oversee daily sanitation procedures, remove trash, and perform directed cleaning tasks, including mopping floors and deep-cleaning kitchen areas.
• Ensure the team follows the Pillars of Hospitality: Welcoming, Consistent, Professional, and Joyful.
