About The Position

The Steel Welder Level III is responsible for fabricating and welding steel. The role performs MIG and TIG welding and carries out related inspection, repair, workpiece positioning, equipment selection, and maintenance tasks. This is a first-shift position, Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with overtime as needed. Candidates who accept an offer must pass a background check and drug screen and meet ATF requirements for firearm possession.

Requirements

Ability to pass a weld test.
At least 1 year of experience reading a tape measure and identifying and measuring material.
Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

At least 5 years of MIG and TIG welding experience in a production environment.
At least 5 years of experience using weld fillet gauges to ensure proper weld size and interpret tolerances.
Forklift certification.

Responsibilities

Perform MIG and TIG welds on steel in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.
Examine welds for bead size and other specifications.
Repair broken or cracked parts and fill holes.
Position and clamp workpieces together or assemble them in jigs or fixtures.
Select the torch, torch tip, filler rod, and flux according to welding-chart specifications or the type and thickness of material.
Perform necessary maintenance and repairs on welding equipment.
