About The Position

The Steel Welder Level I fabricates and welds steel. This is a first-shift position, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with overtime as needed. Candidates who accept an offer must pass a background check and drug screen and meet ATF requirements for firearm possession.

Requirements

Ability to pass a weld test.
At least one year of experience reading a tape measure, identifying material, and measuring material.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of MIG and TIG welding experience in a production environment.
At least one year of experience using weld fillet gauges to ensure proper weld size and interpret tolerances.
Forklift certification.

Responsibilities

Perform MIG and TIG welds on steel in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.
Examine welds for bead size and other specifications.
Repair broken or cracked parts and fill holes.
Position and clamp workpieces together or assemble them in jigs or fixtures.
Select the torch, torch tip, filler rod, and flux according to welding-chart specifications or the type and thickness of material.
Perform necessary maintenance and repairs on welding equipment.
