About The Position

The Steel Welder Level III fabricates and welds steel. The role performs MIG and TIG welding in a production environment and includes examining welds, repairing parts, positioning workpieces, selecting welding tools and materials, and maintaining and repairing welding equipment. This is a first-shift position, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with overtime as needed. Candidates who accept an employment offer must pass a background check and drug screen and meet ATF requirements for firearm possession.

Requirements

• Ability to pass a weld test.
• At least 1 year of experience reading a tape measure and identifying and measuring material.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

• At least 5 years of MIG and TIG welding experience in a production environment.
• At least 5 years of experience using weld fillet gauges to ensure proper weld size and interpret tolerances.
• Forklift certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG and TIG welds on steel in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Examine welds for bead size and other specifications.
• Repair broken or cracked parts and fill holes.
• Position and clamp workpieces together or assemble them in jigs or fixtures.
• Select the torch, torch tip, filler rod, and flux according to welding chart specifications or the type and thickness of material.
• Perform necessary maintenance and repairs on welding equipment.
