About The Position
We are urgently hiring a STEAM After School Instructor to lead engaging classes for K-5th graders in Palo Alto, CA. The instructor will be responsible for teaching programs such as Pottery, Magic, and Makers Club. Classes are held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM, running from September through November. This is a part-time, contract position.
Requirements
- Experience working with children in a K-5th grade setting.
- Knowledge and experience in STEAM subjects, specifically Pottery, Magic, or Makers Club activities.
- Ability to manage a classroom and engage young students.
- Reliable transportation to the site address in Palo Alto, CA.
- Availability on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM during the Sep-Nov program dates.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in curriculum development for after-school programs.
- Background in education or child development.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
Responsibilities
- Lead after-school STEAM programs including Pottery, Magic, and Makers Club.
- Engage students in grades K-5 with hands-on learning activities.
- Manage classroom activities and ensure a safe and positive learning environment.
- Communicate with program coordinators regarding class progress and any issues.
