About The Position
We are seeking a part-time STEAM After School Instructor to lead engaging classes for 5th-8th graders. The instructor will be responsible for delivering program content on Wednesdays from 3:15 PM to 4:15 PM at our Barnesville, MD 20838 location. This role involves facilitating hands-on learning experiences in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics.
Requirements
- Experience working with children in a group setting.
- Knowledge and passion for STEAM subjects.
- Ability to manage a classroom and engage students.
- Reliable transportation to the worksite.
- Availability on Wednesdays from 3:15 PM to 4:15 PM.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience as a teacher or camp counselor.
- Background in a specific STEAM field (e.g., engineering, computer science, art).
- Experience developing or adapting curriculum.
Responsibilities
- Lead and instruct students in STEAM-related activities.
- Manage classroom behavior and ensure a positive learning environment.
- Prepare and organize materials for each class session.
- Communicate with program coordinators regarding student progress and any issues that arise.
- Adhere to the program schedule and curriculum.
