Steakhouse Server Assistant
About The Position
The Steakhouse Server Assistant maintains a clean and organized dining area, supports the service team, and helps provide a positive Guest experience. Duties include clearing and resetting tables, assisting servers with food, beverages, and Guest requests, stocking service stations, and maintaining restaurant cleanliness and sanitation. The role follows Company standards, policies, procedures, and Service Standards, and reports directly to the Steakhouse Assistant Manager. Work is performed on site in Madera, California, in a restaurant environment involving frequent contact with Guests and Team Members. The work area may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, confined, or exposed to secondhand smoke. Duties may involve trained chemical use and work at varied hours, including overtime, evenings, weekends, holidays, and graveyard shifts.
Requirements
- At least one year of experience in a full-service restaurant.
- Current Food Handler certification and RBS certificate, or the ability to acquire them; the employer will provide them upon hire.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Commission, including passing a background investigation.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to interact positively with Guests with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to communicate effectively with Guests and Team Members.
- Ability to work as part of a team, adapt to changing situations, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to perform job-related functions requiring manual dexterity.
- Ability to sit, stand, or walk for the duration of a shift, stand for extended periods, and carry trays of food and drinks.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds, with or without assistance.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Fine dining restaurant experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Practice, support, and promote North Fork Mono Casino's culture and demonstrate exemplary Service Standards.
- Clear dirty dishes, utensils, and glassware; wipe tables; and reset them with clean linens, silverware, and glassware when applicable.
- Assist servers by delivering food and beverages, delivering and refilling water glasses, and responding to Guest requests.
- Keep service stations stocked with supplies such as napkins, silverware, condiments, and glassware.
- Sweep and mop floors, empty trash receptacles, and maintain a clean and organized dining area.
- Provide friendly and efficient service to Guests, including directing them to restrooms and exits.
- Collaborate with servers, hosts, bartenders, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service.
- Follow restaurant safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper food handling and cleaning protocols.
- Maintain a professional and presentable appearance in keeping with the restaurant's dining standards.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
