About The Position

Traditions of Chillicothe, a skilled nursing, assisted living, and memory care community operated by National Church Residences, is seeking a nursing assistant to support its mission of advancing better living and care for seniors. The role provides direct resident care and assistance with daily living and comfort needs, supports nurses with assigned tasks, and helps maintain clean, safe resident living areas. It also includes food-service assistance and timely, accurate, confidential documentation in the electronic medical record system. The position is listed as full time in Chillicothe, Ohio, with a 6:30 a.m.–6:30 p.m. schedule.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Active Ohio STNA license in good standing.

• 2–4 years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform or assist with resident direct-care needs and comforts of daily living.
• Communicate professionally and effectively, verbally and in writing, and follow written and verbal directions.
• Assist nurses with assigned tasks, including measuring and recording vital signs; gathering weights, measurements, and other resident documentation; making beds; cleaning closets; and organizing and maintaining cleanliness in resident living areas.
• Assist with new admissions as assigned and help train and orient new staff as assigned.
• Follow guidelines in the Resident Rights documentation.
• Document resident information promptly, accurately, and confidentially in the electronic medical record system according to established procedures.
• Follow Safety & Compliance policies and procedures, use equipment properly, and report equipment needs or repairs.
• Practice universal precautions and follow protective-equipment and infection-control protocols, standards, policies, and procedures.
• Perform food-service functions, including preparing residents for meals, serving food, assisting with eating, providing after-meal care, passing snacks and fresh water or ice, recording food and fluid intake, noting changes in eating habits, and reporting them appropriately.
