About The Position

Traditions of Chillicothe, a skilled nursing, assisted living, and memory care community in Chillicothe, Ohio, is seeking a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) to support its vision of advancing better living and care for seniors. The position is full time, with a listed schedule of 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The STNA assists residents with direct care and daily living needs, supports nurses with assigned tasks, maintains accurate and confidential resident documentation, and helps keep resident living areas clean and organized. The role also includes meal-related assistance, following resident rights and safety policies, using equipment properly, and complying with infection-control practices.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Active Ohio STNA license in good standing.

Nice To Haves

• 2–4 years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform or assist with residents’ direct care needs and comforts of daily living.
• Communicate professionally and effectively, verbally and in writing, and follow written and verbal directions.
• Assist nurses with assigned tasks, including measuring and recording vital signs; gathering weights, measurements, and other resident documentation; making beds; cleaning closets; organizing and maintaining resident living areas; assisting with new admissions; and helping train and orient new staff when assigned.
• Follow the guidelines in the Resident Rights documentation.
• Document resident information promptly, accurately, and confidentially in the electronic medical record system according to established procedures.
• Follow Safety & Compliance policies and procedures, demonstrate proper equipment use, and report equipment needs or repairs.
• Practice universal precautions and follow protective-equipment and infection-control standards, policies, and procedures.
• Perform food-service functions, including preparing residents for meals, serving food, assisting residents with eating and after-meal care, passing snacks and fresh water or ice, recording food and fluid intake, noting changes in eating habits, and reporting them appropriately.
