About The Position

Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur is a long-term care residence for Sisters in a faith-based environment, dedicated to compassionate, high-quality care and extending God’s goodness through service. The organization is seeking compassionate and reliable State Tested Nursing Assistants to provide personalized care and build meaningful relationships with residents in an 80-bed, five-star facility. Lower Sister-to-staff ratios allow caregivers to provide attentive, relationship-centered care.

This is a full-time position on the 2:00 p.m.–10:30 p.m. shift, working 72 hours bi-weekly. STNAs provide daily care, companionship, and support for residents’ comfort and safety, including care at the end stage of life. The role is considered essential, and employees must report to work during severe weather.

Requirements

• Valid State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification.
• Prior experience in a healthcare setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, patient, and respectful attitude.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion.

Responsibilities

• Assist Sisters with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
• Monitor and record vital signs and intake/output, and report changes to nursing staff.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to Sisters.
• Assist with feeding and hydration as needed.
• Transport Sisters to appointments and activities.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment and follow infection control protocols.
• Support nursing staff with clinical tasks and documentation.
• Follow care plans and ensure Sisters’ comfort and safety.
• Provide care to Sisters at the end stage of life.
• Report to work during severe weather as an essential worker.
• Document care in PointClickCare (PCC).
