About The Position
Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur is a long-term care residence for Sisters who have dedicated their lives to serving God. The organization provides compassionate, high-quality care in a faith-based environment and seeks compassionate, reliable State Tested Nursing Assistants for its 80-bed, five-star facility. The role provides personalized care and supports meaningful relationships, helping Sisters feel valued, supported, and comfortable. Lower Sister-to-staff ratios allow caregivers to provide attentive, relationship-centered care. This part-time position is scheduled from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for an eight-hour weekend shift per week. The STNA supports activities of daily living, monitors and records health information, provides companionship, assists with meals and hydration, transports Sisters, maintains a safe environment, supports nursing staff, follows care plans, and documents care in PointClickCare. The position is considered essential, and the employee must report to work during severe weather.
Requirements
- Valid State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification.
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate, patient, and respectful attitude.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion.

- Long-term care experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist Sisters with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- Monitor and record vital signs and intake/output, and report any changes to nursing staff.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to Sisters.
- Assist with feeding and hydration as needed.
- Transport Sisters to appointments and activities.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment and follow infection control protocols.
- Support nursing staff with clinical tasks and documentation.
- Follow care plans and ensure Sisters' comfort and safety.
- Provide care to Sisters at the end stage of life.
- Report to work during severe weather as an essential worker.
- Chart in PointClickCare (PCC).
