About The Position

The Barista sells and prepares Starbucks coffee beverages according to Starbucks standards, providing caring hospitality and exceptional customer service through product knowledge. The role involves working at coffee, cold beverage, espresso, and pastry stations; preparing and presenting food and beverages to Starbucks recipes and speed-of-service standards; and maintaining station, product, merchandising, hygiene, and safety standards. Schedules depend on business needs and colleague availability, and include weekend shifts. The position is seasonal.

Requirements

Ability to read and interpret instructional documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods; the position may involve reaching, crouching, kneeling, and stooping.
Frequent use of computers and other technology, including handheld equipment and a cash register, and ability to process register transactions.
Frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate current working knowledge of drip coffee, cold beverage, espresso bar, and pastry stations.
Follow company standards and maintain the work area and equipment in accordance with Health Department standards.
Follow Starbucks Simple Service Steps and Magic Selling skills to provide an exceptional customer experience.
Educate, sample, and serve customers food and beverage products.
Perform station-specific duties and responsibilities.
Open and/or close the area using the appropriate checklist and verify completion with the Manager on Duty before leaving.
Maintain PAR stock levels and product presentation standards.
Prepare and present products according to Starbucks recipes while meeting speed-of-service standards.
Follow Starbucks merchandising and signing standards.
Maintain personal hygiene and professional dress standards required by the company, Starbucks, and the Health Department.
Perform other duties as needed.
Foster acceptance and respect to strengthen relationships and ensure authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
