Seasonal Starbucks Barista, Summerlin
About The Position
The Barista sells and prepares Starbucks coffee beverages according to Starbucks standards, providing caring hospitality and exceptional customer service through product knowledge. The role demonstrates working knowledge of drip coffee, cold beverages, espresso, and pastry stations; prepares and presents products according to Starbucks recipes and speed-of-service standards; and maintains stations, equipment, product levels, and displays in line with company, Starbucks, and Health Department standards. The position follows Starbucks service and selling practices, educates and serves customers, and may open or close the area using the appropriate checklist. The Barista also maintains professional hygiene and dress standards and fosters respectful, authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities. Schedules include weekend shifts and may include day, evening, and holiday hours; scheduling depends on business needs and colleague availability.
Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret instructional documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods; reach, crouch, kneel, and stoop; use computers and other technology, including handheld equipment and cash registers; process register transactions; and frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities
- Demonstrate current working knowledge of drip coffee, cold beverage, espresso bar, and pastry stations.
- Follow company standards and maintain the work area and equipment in accordance with Health Department standards.
- Follow Starbucks Simple Service Steps and Magic Selling skills to provide an exceptional customer experience.
- Educate, sample, and serve customers food and beverage products.
- Follow station-specific duties and responsibilities.
- Open and/or close the area using the appropriate checklist and verify completion with the Manager on Duty before leaving.
- Maintain PAR stock levels and product presentation standards.
- Prepare and present products according to Starbucks recipes while meeting speed-of-service standards.
- Follow Starbucks merchandising and signing standards.
- Maintain personal hygiene and professional dress in compliance with company, Starbucks, and Health Department standards.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Foster acceptance and respect, strengthening relationships and ensuring authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
