Seasonal Starbucks Barista, Victoria Gardens
About The Position
The Barista sells and creates Starbucks coffee beverages following Starbucks standards, providing caring hospitality and exceptional customer service through product knowledge. The role involves preparing and presenting food and beverages to Starbucks recipes and speed-of-service standards, maintaining stations and equipment according to company and Health Department standards, and supporting an inclusive environment that fosters authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities. This is a seasonal role at Victoria Gardens. Schedules include weekend shifts, and hours depend on business needs and colleague availability. The position may require day, evening, weekend, and holiday work.
Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret instructional documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
- May need to reach, crouch, kneel, and stoop.
- Frequently use computers and other technology, including handheld equipment and cash registers, and process register transactions.
- Frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- 1–2 years of related experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate current working knowledge of drip coffee, cold beverage, espresso bar, and pastry stations.
- Follow company standards and maintain the work area and equipment in accordance with Health Department standards.
- Follow Starbucks Simple Service Steps and Magic Selling skills to provide an exceptional customer experience.
- Educate, sample, and serve customers food and beverage products.
- Perform station-specific duties and responsibilities.
- Open and/or close the area using the appropriate checklist and verify completion with the Manager on Duty before leaving.
- Maintain PAR stock levels and standards in product presentations.
- Prepare and present products following Starbucks recipes while meeting speed-of-service standards.
- Follow Starbucks merchandising and signing standards.
- Maintain personal hygiene and professional dress in compliance with company, Starbucks, and Health Department standards.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Foster acceptance and respect, strengthening relationships and authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
