Seasonal Starbucks Barista, Northridge Fashion Center
About The Position
The Starbucks Barista sells and prepares Starbucks coffee beverages according to Starbucks standards, providing caring hospitality and exceptional customer service through product knowledge. The role includes preparing and presenting food and beverages, maintaining station and equipment standards, supporting store operations, and building authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities. This is a seasonal position at the Northridge Fashion Center. Schedules depend on business needs and colleague availability and include weekend shifts; hours may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret instructional documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including day, evening, weekend, and/or holiday hours.
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods; reach, crouch, kneel, and stoop as needed.
- Frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds.
- Frequently use computers and other technology, including handheld equipment and cash registers, and process register transactions.
Nice To Haves
- 1–2 years of related experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate current working knowledge of drip coffee, cold beverage, espresso bar, and pastry stations.
- Maintain work areas and equipment according to company and Health Department standards.
- Follow Starbucks Simple Service Steps and Magic Selling skills to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
- Educate customers about products, provide samples, and serve food and beverages.
- Carry out station-specific duties and responsibilities.
- Open or close the area using the appropriate checklist and verify completion with the Manager on Duty before leaving.
- Maintain PAR stock levels and product presentation standards.
- Prepare and present products according to Starbucks recipes while meeting speed-of-service standards.
- Follow Starbucks merchandising and signing standards.
- Maintain personal hygiene and professional dress in accordance with company, Starbucks, and Health Department standards.
- Perform other duties as needed.
