Seasonal Starbucks Barista, Biltmore Fashion Park
About The Position
The Barista sells and prepares Starbucks coffee beverages according to Starbucks standards, providing caring hospitality and exceptional customer service through product knowledge. The role involves working across beverage and pastry stations, maintaining food safety and merchandising standards, preparing products to Starbucks recipes and speed-of-service expectations, and helping create authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities. This is a seasonal position at Biltmore Fashion Park. Schedules include weekend shifts and may include day, evening, weekend, or holiday hours; hours depend on business needs and colleague availability.
Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret instructional documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including day, evening, weekend, and/or holiday shifts.
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
- Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, and stoop as needed.
- Ability to use computers and other technology, including handheld equipment and a cash register, and process register transactions.
- Ability to frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- 1–2 years of related experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate current working knowledge of drip coffee, cold beverage, espresso bar, and pastry stations.
- Follow company standards and maintain the work area and equipment in accordance with Health Department standards.
- Follow Starbucks Simple Service Steps and Magic Selling skills to provide an exceptional customer experience.
- Educate, sample, and serve customers food and beverage products.
- Follow station-specific duties and responsibilities.
- Open and/or close the area using the appropriate checklist and verify completion with the Manager on Duty before leaving.
- Maintain PAR stock levels and product presentation standards.
- Prepare and present products according to Starbucks recipes while meeting speed-of-service standards.
- Follow Starbucks merchandising and signing standards.
- Maintain personal hygiene and professional dress in compliance with company, Starbucks, and Health Department standards.
- Perform other duties as needed.
