Starbucks Barista
About The Position
Create the Starbucks experience for Food City shoppers by providing prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable environment. The role supports Food City's mission to “Run the Best Store in Town!” by providing courteous customer service, preparing Starbucks beverages and food products to established recipe and presentation standards, and following food-safety and equipment procedures. Baristas are expected to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts and interact with customers and fellow associates in a positive and friendly manner.
Requirements
- Must be 16 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions.
- Ability to perform routine and repetitive tasks.
- Ability to have constant contact and interaction with individuals at various levels on a daily basis.
- Ability to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts and adhere to company time and attendance policies.
Nice To Haves
- Food service or coffee experience is a plus, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Provide efficient and courteous customer service in support of the company mission.
- Take customer orders and ensure they are completed in a timely manner and to the customers’ satisfaction.
- Prepare, bag, pour, and stock Starbucks products, rotating items to ensure product quality and safety.
- Maintain a positive and friendly attitude toward customers and fellow associates.
- Engage with customers by offering product information, using suggestive-selling techniques, and sampling products.
- Process cash register transactions using the POS system.
- Consistently provide quality beverages, whole bean, and food products by adhering to recipe and presentation standards.
- Act with integrity, honesty, and knowledge to promote the culture, values, and mission of Food City and Starbucks.
- Operate tools and equipment while following routine and safety procedures.
- Follow the company food-safety program and food-handling procedures.
- Attend on-site work during scheduled shifts and adhere to company time and attendance policies.
