About The Position

Create the Starbucks experience for Food City shoppers by providing prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable environment. The Barista supports Food City’s mission to “Run the Best Store in Town!” and follows Starbucks recipe, presentation, food-safety, and service standards. The role requires on-site attendance during scheduled shifts and involves serving customers, preparing and stocking products, and operating a POS system and other tools and equipment.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions.
• Ability to perform routine and repetitive tasks.
• Ability to interact daily with individuals at various levels.
• Ability to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts in accordance with company time and attendance policies.

Nice To Haves

• Food service or coffee experience is a plus but is not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient and courteous customer service in support of the company mission.
• Take customer orders, complete them promptly, and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Prepare, bag, pour, and stock Starbucks products, rotating items to maintain quality and safety.
• Maintain a positive and friendly attitude toward customers and fellow associates.
• Engage with customers by providing product information, using suggestive selling techniques, and sampling products.
• Process cash register transactions using the POS system.
• Consistently provide quality beverages, whole bean coffee, and food products while following recipe and presentation standards.
• Act with integrity, honesty, and knowledge in support of Food City and Starbucks’ culture, values, and missions.
• Operate tools and equipment according to routine and safety procedures.
• Follow the company food-safety program and food-handling procedures.
• Attend on-site work during scheduled shifts and follow company time and attendance policies.
