Staff Software Engineer

We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our core product team at Paperless Parts. In this role, you will contribute to our product as a code contributor while also serving as a technical leader, mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with product and design teams. Additionally, you will work with senior members of Engineering to scale our architecture and technology for long-term growth. We are looking for someone who values attention to detail, engineering excellence, and collaboration within an agile environment.

Join a feature team, made up of Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers

Work day-to-day as a code contributor to the product

Act as a technical leader, mentoring less experienced Engineers

Partner with product and design to deliver the best possible product to customers

Partner with other senior members of Engineering to scale architecture, technology, and best practices for long-term growth

Ensure engineering excellence and constantly improve on every dimension of the product and technology

Collaborate with the team in an iterative fashion within an agile environment

• Design, implement, and maintain flexible and scalable solutions in our products.
• Build APIs to securely and efficiently access data for internal and external use.
• Embrace technical challenges in a secure and compliant manner.
• Continually make improvements to the quality and scalability of our product.
• Possess deep experience (typically 10+ years) delivering high quality and high impact products and services. Staff and Principal engineers are technical bar raisers for our organization.
• Ability to lead teams beyond the status quo. We need an engineer who thinks one to two years ahead of where we are and builds a path to the future.
• Proven ability to solve complicated technical problems and analyze trade-offs with empathy for the developers.
• Expert with a modern web application stack, e.g. Python/Django, Node/Express, Java/Spring.
• Strong experience with AWS.
• Strong experience with relational and non-relationship data stores.
