Engineering Manager

The Opportunity: This role at Paperless Parts is a leadership position reporting to a Director of Engineering. As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for both technical leadership and people management. You will have the opportunity to mentor and grow a team of engineers, collaborate with product managers, and create an engineering culture that fosters innovation and diversity. Additionally, you will ensure engineering excellence through design and code reviews, while setting clear expectations and maintaining a positive work environment. This position requires at least 5 years of development experience and 3 years of engineering leadership experience.

• Recruit, mentor, manage, and grow a team of engineers
• Work across engineering teams and partner closely with product managers to deliver on business and technology goals
• Create an engineering culture that supports innovation, creativity, and diversity while delivering high quality products with predictability and reliability
• Ensure engineering excellence and rigor in architecture, execution, and delivery through technical design reviews and code reviews
• Partner with other engineering managers to ensure a consistent approach to managing our teams
• Set clear expectations and create a positive work environment based on accountability
• Perform regular performance reviews and give regular feedback to your reports

• 5+ years of development experience
• 3+ years of experience in an engineering leadership capacity, e.g. Architect, Team Lead, or Manager
• Strong understanding of software development best practices
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and team building skills
• Experience working in SAAS software development
• Knowledge of python and/or javascript preferred
• Knowledge of AWS and its services preferred
