Staff Services Analyst I

CalHR•Lakeport, CA

About The Position

The Staff Services Analyst I is an entry-level professional position performing analytical work in general administration, staff development, fiscal, and/or program areas. Incumbents work under close supervision on assignments generally limited in scope and directed by a higher-level employee, gaining independence as they gain experience. Most incumbents are expected to advance to Staff Services Analyst II after one year of satisfactory performance; positions limited to routine, repetitive analytical duties may remain at the I level. The role does not supervise other professional staff, though it may include ancillary supervision of clerical or technical employees. The position involves collecting, maintaining, analyzing, and presenting data; researching administrative and program issues; reviewing proposed laws, policies, and program updates; preparing reports and recommendations; advising staff and the public; coordinating projects and procedures; and working with county departments, agencies, and outside organizations. Depending on the assigned option, duties may focus on staff development, fiscal analysis, or program analysis.
