About The Position

The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for an identified group of patients in an inpatient environment. The RN demonstrates competency in delivering care primarily to adult patients. The Staff RN-Inpatient role incorporates essential functions adapted from the ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, 2nd Edition (2010). This is a part-time, on-site position at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The position is 0.6 FTE, with 24 standard hours, on Shift 3. Weekend and holiday work is specified; the shift details list 19:00–07:30 and holidays that fall on weekends.

Requirements

Clinical competence and experience in the care and management of patient populations specific to the area of employment.
Professional nursing knowledge and practice normally acquired through completion of an accredited School of Nursing program qualifying the candidate for Registered Nurse licensure.
Current Wisconsin Registered Nurse license or a multistate nursing license from a participating Nurse Licensure Compact state.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider certification, or an AHA-approved equivalent, required within 90 days of hire.
Newly hired or transferred RNs without a BSN or higher nursing degree and with less than one year of RN experience must provide proof of acceptance into an accredited BSN or higher nursing degree program within 15 months of hire or transfer and complete it within five years of enrollment, subject to the stated exceptions for other bachelor's or graduate degrees and qualifying nursing programs.
