About The Position

Provides general nursing care to patients and families throughout the continuum of care in diverse, acute health care settings. The department has scheduled staff to operate 24/7/365. The RN is accountable for the practice of nursing as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing and delegates nursing tasks to licensed practical nurses and unlicensed assistive personnel using criteria in the Ohio Nurse Practice Act. In accordance with department policies and nursing care standards, the RN provides professional nursing care and is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for assigned patients.

The role includes assessing patient health status, identifying outcomes and planning interventions, evaluating patient responses and revising care plans with a multidisciplinary team, participating in process improvement, and supporting safe, high-quality, efficient operations. Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license from the State of Ohio or a current Registered Nurse license in good standing with a multi-state compact state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• BSN required by five years of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessments as applicable to the patient population or individual.
• Document planned nursing interventions, based on nursing diagnoses and collaborative problems, to achieve outcomes appropriate to patient needs.
• Evaluate and document responses to nursing interventions and achievement of outcomes at appropriate intervals.
• Revise the plan of care with the multidisciplinary team based on evaluative data.
• Participate in process improvement activities to achieve targeted measures of clinical quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.
• Carry out operational responsibilities with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Delegate nursing tasks to licensed practical nurses and unlicensed assistive personnel in accordance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.
