About The Position

Fivetran is hiring a Staff Product Manager for Developer Experience to set the strategy for how AI transforms the way data practitioners write, debug, and ship dbt code. The role owns the vision, roadmap, and outcomes for the end-to-end developer workflow across the Studio IDE, Developer Agent (an AI coding assistant inside dbt Wizard), Cloud CLI, and dbt VS Code Extension. These products serve tens of thousands of practitioners, from experienced analytics engineers to newer users who rely on AI to work faster and with confidence. This is a Staff-level role with broad scope and direct influence on company direction. The Product Manager will partner closely with the Fusion team, which develops dbt’s next-generation compilation and intelligence, to translate Fusion capabilities into differentiated developer experiences and ensure developer needs inform the platform roadmap. The role calls for a strategic and hands-on leader who can define the future of AI-native developer tools and bring deep interest in building effective AI agents. The Product Manager will define a multi-year developer experience strategy and roadmap, set priorities and success metrics, and make investment decisions informed by market insight, customer evidence, and technical judgment. They will shape AI agent workflows and principles for trust, transparency, control, and evaluation; coordinate platform and product roadmaps; lead cross-functional teams through a predictable shipping cadence; influence senior stakeholders; and mentor other product managers. They will also maintain close feedback loops with dbt community members and enterprise customers, particularly power users and technical practitioners. Success means establishing a clear developer experience strategy aligned across engineering, design, and leadership; making Developer Agent a differentiated, well-regarded AI coding product; improving developer satisfaction and engagement; building an effective Fusion partnership; and making the Cloud CLI a first-class product that developers actively choose. The position is on a distributed, remote team. The posting lists a New York target compensation range of $243,936–$304,920 USD. Benefits include employer-paid medical insurance, paid time away, RSU stock grants, professional development and training, team activities, a monthly cell phone stipend, and access to a mental health support platform. Benefits may vary by country and worker type.

  • Monitor developments in AI coding tools and turn them into a differentiated product perspective.
  • Partner with the Fusion team to define platform-product boundaries, agree on API contracts, and coordinate roadmaps.
  • Lead engineering, design, and go-to-market teams through a predictable shipping cadence and maintain alignment on priorities.
  • Influence senior leadership and company stakeholders through strategy documents, demos, and clear explanations of tradeoffs.
