About The Position

Fivetran is hiring a Staff Product Manager to set the strategy and own outcomes for dbt’s end-to-end developer experience. The role spans the Studio IDE, Developer Agent (an AI coding assistant inside dbt Wizard), Cloud CLI, and dbt VS Code Extension—tools used by data practitioners ranging from experienced analytics engineers to newer users. This Staff-level position has broad scope and direct influence on company direction, with a central partnership with the Fusion team to turn next-generation compilation and intelligence capabilities into differentiated developer experiences and to ensure developer needs inform the Fusion roadmap. The successful candidate will define a multi-year vision and roadmap, make evidence-based investment and prioritization decisions, and lead the development of AI-agent experiences including agentic workflows, multi-step task execution, context management, natural-language interaction, and guided experiences. They will establish principles for trust, transparency, control, and evaluation; monitor the evolving AI development landscape; and develop a distinct product direction. They will coordinate engineering, design, and go-to-market teams, align platform and product roadmaps, influence senior stakeholders, mentor PMs, and maintain close feedback loops with dbt community members and enterprise customers. Success includes a clear developer-experience strategy, a differentiated Developer Agent, improved developer satisfaction and engagement, an effective Fusion partnership, and a Cloud CLI that developers actively choose. The role is on a distributed, remote team and requires comfort working asynchronously. The Oakland target compensation range is $243,936–$304,920 USD; actual compensation depends on factors including skills, experience, education or training, business need, and location.
