Staff Product Manager

PostmanSan Francisco, CA
Onsite

About The Position

Postman is seeking a Staff Product Manager to define and lead the product strategy for Postman's web experience across postman.com and related properties. This role involves owning the web as a customer-facing product and a business system, shaping user journeys, expanding product discovery, and building the foundation for learning and improvement. The ideal candidate is a strategic builder who can operate without a pre-existing playbook, make prioritization decisions, turn ambiguous opportunities into a roadmap, and lead cross-functional teams including Product, Design, Engineering, Data, Product Marketing, SEO, Brand, and Growth. Success will be measured by the outcomes created by the web experience.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of product management experience, including significant ownership of customer-facing web products or digital experiences at scale.
  • Experience setting strategy, building roadmaps, and delivering measurable results in complex organizations.
  • Demonstrated outcome ownership, with the ability to point to web experiences personally led that materially changed customer behavior or business performance.
  • Deep web product expertise, understanding how modern websites are designed, built, rendered, served, measured, and evolved.
  • Ability to partner credibly on content management systems, front-end architecture, server-side and client-side rendering, CDNs, release workflows, and technical dependencies.
  • Strong technical search and agentic optimization fluency, with hands-on experience using information architecture and SEO to improve discovery at scale.
  • Understanding of the implications of URL design, site hierarchy, internal linking, structured data, crawl budgets, rendering, redirects, canonicalization, and indexation.
  • Web performance expertise, understanding page performance, Core Web Vitals, accessibility, and reliability as product concerns.
  • Measurement, cookies, and attribution fluency, understanding browser and cookie behavior, consent management, first-party data, identity, tag management, attribution limitations, and privacy-aware analytics.
  • Ability to diagnose gaps in measurement.
  • Experimentation and quantitative judgment, fluency in funnel analysis, experiment design, guardrail metrics, statistical interpretation, and post-launch learning.
  • Exceptional product judgment, ability to move between long-term strategy and detailed execution, identify key decisions, and balance customer value, business value, technical complexity, brand craft, and speed.
  • Cross-functional gravity, ability to influence without formal authority and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Customer empathy for technical audiences, curiosity about developers and how they evaluate and adopt tools.
  • Experience with developer products, APIs, business-to-business software, or product-led growth is strongly valued.

Nice To Haves

  • Fluency across growth, marketing, design, analytics, privacy, and web engineering to lead effectively at the seams.

Responsibilities

  • Set the web product vision and roadmap, defining the long-term strategy for postman.com and related web properties.
  • Establish how web surfaces work together as a portfolio, which audiences and jobs they serve, and where to invest for customer and business value.
  • Expand product discovery and top-of-funnel reach by creating new ways for people to discover Postman's product suite, capabilities, use cases, and solutions.
  • Identify underserved audiences and high-potential entry points, and turn them into intuitive, scalable web experiences.
  • Own and improve the end-to-end web journeys from first visit through evaluation and entry into the product, reducing friction and clarifying value.
  • Build a trusted analytics and attribution foundation by partnering with Data and Engineering to define instrumentation, event taxonomy, attribution, and reporting.
  • Lead privacy-aware measurement, balancing measurement quality, user trust, and compliance.
  • Own the product strategy for technical search engine optimization, including site architecture, crawlability, indexation, rendering, structured data, and migrations.
  • Raise the bar for web performance and quality by setting clear standards for page speed, Core Web Vitals, accessibility, reliability, responsiveness, and cross-browser behavior.
  • Lead through influence, bringing together senior partners across various departments to align on strategy, decisions, results, and learnings.
  • Build for a global audience by developing a thoughtful approach to internationalization and localization.
