About The Position

Vanta is hiring a Staff Product Manager for Activation & Onboarding to own conversion and activation for its agentic self-serve experience. The role will shape an onboarding journey in which the Vanta Agent helps set up, configure, and run customers’ security programs, with Sales, Customer Success, and other teams supporting customers where appropriate. The team owns how new small and downmarket customers move from signup to value across Vanta’s platform, including GRC, Trust Center, TPRM, Risk, Access, and Privacy, as well as the experience of onboarding a company to Vanta. This company-level initiative influences customer time to value, conversion, and expansion. The position combines defining the vision for agentic onboarding with owning conversion and activation end to end. The Staff Product Manager will establish strategy, roadmap, and operating models; create a coherent journey across products and customer segments; and work with cross-functional partners to measure outcomes, identify friction, and improve the experience. The role requires sound judgment about how agents can safely and effectively help customers manage security programs, and using AI in day-to-day work to improve outcomes while maintaining a high quality bar.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to own a broad, cross-functional product outcome spanning multiple departments, products, and customer segments.
  • Understanding of go-to-market and Account Management, including how and when Sales, Customer Success, and Account Management should engage and how to design handoffs between product-led and service-supported experiences.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships quickly and bring cross-functional partners together around clear customer and business outcomes.
  • Ability to think in systems and connect onboarding moments to broader platform, lifecycle, data, and operating systems.
  • Comfort making decisions in ambiguous environments, communicating tradeoffs, and creating momentum without formal authority.
  • Interest in defining an AI-native, agentic onboarding experience and thoughtful judgment about safe and effective use of agents.
  • Uses AI in day-to-day work and exercises sound judgment to ensure AI-assisted work meets a high quality bar.

Responsibilities

  • Define the future of agentic AI onboarding at Vanta, including how the Vanta Agent guides customers, completes setup, and helps run security and compliance programs.
  • Own and drive the self-serve onboarding experience for startups and downmarket customers, creating a coherent journey from first interaction through meaningful product adoption.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Account Management to build a scalable self-serve program across products and packaging.
  • Work across product teams to make it easy for customers to discover, configure, and adopt Vanta products and platform capabilities as their needs evolve.
  • Establish the strategy, roadmap, and operating model for product activation and onboarding across the customer lifecycle.
  • Partner with Engineering, Design, Data, and go-to-market teams to define success metrics, identify friction, run experiments, and improve activation and time to value.
  • Coordinate across departments, organizations, products, and customer segments to create a singular, coherent customer experience.
  • Design appropriate handoffs between product-led and service-supported customer experiences.
  • Build relationships across product, design, engineering, marketing, sales, customer success, and account teams, and align them around customer and business outcomes.
  • Make decisions in ambiguous environments, communicate tradeoffs, and create momentum across teams without relying on formal authority.
  • Use AI in day-to-day work to amplify skills and strengthen outcomes, experiment to build fluency, and apply judgment to ensure AI-assisted work meets a high quality bar.
