About The Position

Lyft is seeking a Staff Product Manager for Base Pricing to own the vision and roadmap for how Lyft sets base prices, and to define the success metrics for the work. The Base Pricing team owns the systems that set base prices across ride types, regions, and ride intents. Its machine-learning and optimization stack models marketplace responses to prices, translates ride-serving costs into prices, and recommends pricing changes across markets. Base prices are the foundation for fares and provide the reference point for dynamic pricing and rider discounts. The role serves riders, who should see fair, competitive prices matched to what they value, and analysts and market managers who use models and tools to set pricing strategy. The Product Manager will work with engineering, science, analytics, and partner teams to align on a shared vision, define requirements, and prioritize requests. They will communicate roadmaps, experiment results, and pricing decisions to partner teams and Lyft executives.

  • At least 5 years of product management or relevant experience, with significant experience in algorithmic, data-driven, pricing, or marketplace products.
  • Deep technical understanding of microeconomics.
  • Experience owning pricing, revenue management, or other economic levers with direct P&L impact.
  • Experience running A/B tests and market-level experiments, applying statistical and causal inference techniques to evaluate results, and developing post-launch testing strategies.
  • Experience querying, aggregating, analyzing, and visualizing data; comfort working directly in SQL and with data science partners on model design.
  • Ability to define and analyze product success metrics, with strong judgment about product ecosystem dynamics.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, complexity, and interdependencies across teams in an organized and structured manner.
  • Strong communication skills and judgment about communication strategy across teams, the company, and executive audiences.
  • Passion for Lyft and its goals in sustainable urban transportation.
