Staff Product Manager I, Base Pricing

Lyft•San Francisco, CA
•$176,000 - $220,000•Hybrid

About The Position

Lyft is seeking a product manager to own the vision and roadmap for Base Pricing, the system that sets base prices for every ride type, region, and ride intent. Pricing is a real-time marketplace system balancing rider affordability, driver earnings, and sustainable growth. The Base Pricing team uses machine-learning and optimization systems to predict marketplace responses to prices, translate ride-serving costs into prices, and recommend price changes across markets. Its customers include riders and the analysts and market managers who set pricing strategy. The role will define success metrics and evolve how Lyft sets base prices, including their granularity, interaction with dynamic pricing, cost inputs, and coordination across ride types. It will also improve the accuracy and trustworthiness of impact-estimation models and help adapt base pricing to a hybrid network that includes autonomous vehicles. The product manager works with engineering, data science, analytics, Driver Earnings, Verticals, and Market Management, and communicates roadmaps, experiments, and pricing decisions to partner teams and executives. This is a hybrid role requiring in-office work three days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Hybrid employees may work from anywhere for up to four weeks per year. The expected base pay range in the San Francisco area is $176,000–$220,000, excluding potential equity, bonus, and benefits.
