About The Position

The Staff Pharmacist practices pharmacy in an environment focused on patient care and education. The role is patient-directed and clinically oriented, with a focus on advancing patient care and growing the pharmacy business. The pharmacist fills prescriptions safely and accurately, supports and develops pharmacy technicians, and maintains positive relationships with patients, team members, and leadership. In the absence of the pharmacist in charge, this position is responsible for pharmacy operations. The role also performs and oversees clinical services, including immunizations, where allowed. Other duties may be assigned or required.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree or Doctorate of Pharmacy.
Registered and licensed in the state of practice.
Certified Immunization Pharmacist, except in Indiana.
Retail or community pharmacy practice.
Working knowledge of the pharmacy system.
Working knowledge of policies and procedures.
Understanding of regulations in the state where the unit operates.
Effective communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload.

Responsibilities

Fill prescriptions safely and accurately.
Maintain positive relationships with patients, team members, and leadership.
Hold pharmacy technicians accountable for results in an appropriate and effective manner.
Expand and grow the pharmacy business.
Educate and mentor pharmacy technicians to help them become effective team members.
Motivate team members to perform to their highest level.
Apply knowledge of Meijer policies and procedures and state and federal laws.
Communicate effectively and act as an agent of change.
Organize and prioritize workload effectively.
Listen to patients, resolve their needs, and provide customer service.
Take responsibility for pharmacy operations in the absence of the pharmacist in charge.
Perform and oversee clinical services, including immunizations, where allowed.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.
