About The Position

The Staff Nurse (RN) works in the Inpatient Float Pool, providing and coordinating nursing care under general supervision within the Hennepin Healthcare System Patient and Family Centered Care model. The nurse protects, promotes, and optimizes health; prevents illness and injury; alleviates suffering through treatment of human responses; partners with patients, families, and significant others; and documents interventions and individualized plans of care.

This position is 0.75 FTE (60 hours per pay period), with five 12-hour shifts per pay period. Shifts may be days or nights, and the position includes an every-third-weekend rotation. Call is not required. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is available to eligible external candidates. Current employees, contract or temporary workers, and former employees returning to HHS within one year are ineligible.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of inpatient hospital RN experience or 1 year of acute intermediate care RN experience.
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• A valid Registered Nurse license issued by the State of Minnesota.

Nice To Haves

• 1 year of ICU RN experience.
• Certification in an area of clinical specialty.
• A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred; advancement in academic education will be discussed as part of individual professional development during the annual performance review.
