Staff GTM Systems Engineer

LiveKit
•$216,000 - $292,000

About The Position

The Staff GTM Systems Engineer is the technical owner and architect of LiveKit’s go-to-market systems. This role determines how the GTM stack is designed, what to build or buy, and where to invest, while directly building Salesforce architecture, integrations, enrichment pipelines, and agentic workflows for Sales and Marketing. Salesforce is the system of record for revenue, pipeline, and customer data; HubSpot supports campaigns and lead generation. The engineer owns the architecture connecting these tools with enrichment, sales intelligence, billing, and data-platform systems, with an emphasis on disciplined change management, observable pipelines, AI-ready data models, and scalable workflows. Working across GTM, Data, Finance, and Engineering, this role partners with senior leaders to shape the systems roadmap, translate business strategy into technical plans, lead cross-functional initiatives, and establish technical standards. The role also mentors engineers and helps ensure Salesforce and HubSpot are governed effectively while enabling teams to work more productively.

Requirements

  • Extensive engineering experience in GTM or business systems, including end-to-end ownership of a GTM stack’s architecture, build-versus-buy decisions, vendor evaluations, and systems designed for a multi-year horizon.
  • Deep, hands-on Salesforce expertise, including understanding the data model and building complex flows and automation; ability to approach Salesforce as an engineering system rather than an admin tool.
  • HubSpot experience in a marketing context, including experience with the HubSpot-Salesforce sync and its failure modes.
  • Technical experience beyond user interfaces, including building integrations with APIs, webhooks, and event streams, and judgment about when to use native tools versus custom code.
  • Experience designing and deploying AI agents that act on GTM data in production.
  • Strong change-management practices and experience shipping changes to live systems while protecting active deals and campaigns.
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders and translating business strategy into system requirements and roadmaps.
  • A history of mentoring engineers from early-career through senior levels.

Nice To Haves

  • Salesforce CPQ experience, including approvals, order forms, discounting rules, and the closed-won-to-billing path.
  • SQL and data-modeling fluency and familiarity with a warehouse-centric stack such as BigQuery, Snowflake, dbt, or reverse ETL.
  • Experience with billing platforms such as Stripe, Zuora, or Maxio and the handoffs between GTM systems and billing.
  • Experience managing a GTM tooling budget or vendor portfolio.
  • Experience as a technical lead on a GTM or business systems team.

Responsibilities

  • Own the architecture and technical strategy for the GTM systems stack, including Salesforce, HubSpot, enrichment, sales intelligence, billing, and the data platform.
  • Lead build-versus-buy and procurement decisions by evaluating vendors, running proofs of concept, assessing security and integration fit, and partnering on selections and renewals.
  • Shape the GTM systems roadmap with leaders across Sales, Marketing, RevOps, Finance, and Engineering; align requirements, sequence investments, make tradeoffs, and deliver cross-functional initiatives.
  • Own Salesforce as the engineering system of record for revenue, including its data model, flows and automation, validation rules, field governance, and access control.
  • Own HubSpot for campaigns and lead generation and manage its Salesforce sync to ensure leads, contacts, and engagement signals flow reliably into the revenue pipeline.
  • Build and maintain GTM-stack integrations and partner with GTM Analytics Engineering on reliable data flows to the central data platform.
  • Design and deploy agentic workflows that use GTM data to surface actionable signals and automate manual operations; establish patterns and guardrails for others.
  • Establish observability and change management for critical GTM systems, including alerts, dashboards, runbooks, reviewed code changes, documented configuration, and rollback paths.
  • Mentor engineers across experience levels and set technical standards for the team.
  • Partner with the Billing Systems Engineer to automate the CPQ-to-Billing handoff.
