About The Position

This position is responsible for operating a beveling machine, ensuring that bevels conform to quality requirements, and maintaining machinery in good condition. The role involves reading work orders, performing machine set-ups during size changeovers, and communicating with supervisors, engineers, and other operators. The operator will also be responsible for cleaning and servicing equipment, inspecting bevel ends, and assisting with maintenance and repairs. This role may also require operating a forklift and overhead crane, and serving as a backup for other positions like the Hydrotester and Pre-Visual Check Operator.

Requirements

A High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
Manual dexterity required for operating machinery, hand tools and hand-held measurement devices.
Ability to work with a flexible schedule which may require over-time and weekends when necessary.

Nice To Haves

Experience with operating automated equipment preferred.
Knowledge of SRM manufacturing processes, procedures for at least one year is a plus.

Responsibilities

Responsible for beveling machine set-up during size changeovers.
Ensure the bevels conform to the quality requirement on the work order.
Ensure that no pipe with inside scarf goes to the next operation.
Communicating the product details and unfinished duties whenever there is a change of operator.
Read work orders to determine production specifications and information.
Serve as a back-up for the Hydrotester, Pre-Visual Check Operator when necessary.
Maintain a good machinery condition by observing machine operations; detecting machinery malfunctions and make required corrections.
Responsible to clean and service all the equipment during scheduled maintenance and downtime.
Communicate to Supervisor and Engineer when necessary.
Communicating and working together with the work station operators.
Reject non-conforming products and readjust equipment to correct problems.
Follow all PPE policies and safety rules.
Follow the 5S implementation procedure.
Communicate to Supervisor and Engineer any problems with material and equipment.
Inspect Bevel ends in accordance to ASTM and or Standard Operating Procedure.
Report to his immediate supervisor and Engineer for briefing on daily tasks.
Provide and assist with maintenance on the equipment he/she is operating.
Operate Forklift and Overhead Crane.
Keeping the working environment clean and tidy.
Check that all machinery is properly serviced before starting up and during shift.
Assist in repair and replacement of equipment during maintenance shutdowns.
Communicate with crew to achieve a quality product.
Assist in changeovers and maintenance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Authority to stop work if deemed necessary for reason of possible equipment damage.
