About The Position

The Cut to Length Operator is responsible for operating machinery to cut pipe to specified lengths, ensuring adherence to quality standards and production requirements. This role involves setting up and maintaining equipment, performing quality checks, and communicating effectively with team members and supervisors. The operator must be able to work in a demanding industrial environment and follow all safety protocols.

Requirements

A High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
Manual dexterity required for operating machinery, hand tools, and hand-held measurement devices.
Employee must be able to work with precision measurement and inspection device.

Nice To Haves

Experience with operating automated equipment preferred.
Knowledge of Threading/Pipe cutting/packaging manufacturing processes and procedures for at least 2 year is a plus.

Responsibilities

Responsible for Threading/Pipe cutting/packaging machine set-up during size changeovers.
Ensure the threading conforms to the quality requirement on the work order.
Ensure the Cutting machine conforms to the quality requirement on the work order.
Ensure the Packaging machine conforms to the quality requirement on the work order.
Communicating the product’s details and unfinished duties whenever there is a change of operator.
Read work orders to determine production specifications and information.
This position serves as a back-up for the Hydrotester, Pre-Visual Check, Threading and Packaging Operator when necessary.
Maintain a good machine condition by observing machine operations, detecting machinery malfunctions, and making required corrections.
Communicate to Supervisor and Engineer when necessary.
Communicate and work together with the workstation operators.
Reject non-conforming products and readjust equipment to correct problems.
Employee must follow all PPE policies and safety rules.
Employee must follow the 5S implementation procedure.
Communicate to Supervisor and Engineer any problems with material and equipment.
Inspecting threading in accordance with ASTM and or Standard Operating Procedure.
Inspecting Pipe length and Bundling operations in accordance with ASTM and or Standard Operating Procedure.
Employee must report to his immediate supervisor and Engineer for briefing on daily tasks.
Provide and assist with maintenance on the equipment he/she is operating.
This position may require operating Forklift and Overhead Crane.
Keep the work environment clean and tidy.
Check that all machinery is properly serviced before starting up and during shift.
Assist in repair and replacement of equipment during maintenance shutdowns.
Communicate with crew to achieve a quality product.
Assist in changeovers and maintenance.
Other duties as assigned.
This position has the authority to stop all SRM pipeline operation at any time that is deemed necessary for reasons of safety, quality, or priority.
