About The Position

This position is responsible for operating machinery in a pipe manufacturing environment. The role requires adherence to strict quality and safety standards, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). The operator will be involved in machine setup, quality checks, and maintenance, and may need to operate other machinery such as forklifts and overhead cranes. Flexibility in work schedule, including overtime and weekends, is expected.

Requirements

A High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
Manual dexterity required for operating machinery, hand tools, and hand-held measurement devices.
Ability to work with precision measurement and inspection devices.
Ability to work with a flexible schedule which may require over-time and weekends when necessary.

Nice To Haves

Experience with operating automated equipment preferred.
Knowledge of Threading/Pipe cutting/packaging manufacturing processes and procedures for at least 2 years is a plus.

Responsibilities

Responsible for Threading/Pipe cutting/packaging machine set-up during size changeovers.
Ensure the threading conforms to the quality requirement on the work order.
Ensure the Cutting machine conforms to the quality requirement on the work order.
Ensure the Packaging machine conforms to the quality requirement on the work order.
Communicating the product’s details and unfinished duties whenever there is a change of operator.
Read work orders to determine production specifications and information.
Serve as a back-up for the Hydrotester, Pre-Visual Check, Threading and Packaging Operator when necessary.
Maintain a good machine condition by observing machine operations, detecting machinery malfunctions, and making required corrections.
Communicate to Supervisor and Engineer when necessary.
Communicate and work together with the workstation operators.
Reject non-conforming products and readjust equipment to correct problems.
Follow all PPE policies and safety rules.
Follow the 5S implementation procedure.
Communicate to Supervisor and Engineer any problems with material and equipment.
