About The Position

Guitar Center is seeking a passionate, goal-driven Sr. Sales Associate to create a welcoming, engaging shopping experience for customers and help them find instruments and equipment suited to their musical interests. The role combines sales, product expertise, customer relationship building, merchandising, store operations, and support for fellow Associates. As a keyholding member of the store, the Sr. Sales Associate may open and close the store as needed. The position requires flexibility to work additional hours and nights or weekends as needed. Guitar Center offers a creative retail environment, and musician employees may use gig leave to take time off to perform or tour and return to their jobs afterward.

Requirements

Passion for music and a solid understanding of various instruments and products.
Proven sales track record and ability to exceed sales targets.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment and strong organizational skills.
Ability to influence and inspire others to achieve shared goals.
Flexibility to work additional hours, nights, and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

Create a welcoming environment that inspires customers to explore their musical interests and help them find suitable instruments and gear.
Achieve and exceed sales targets by upselling and cross-selling relevant instruments and accessories.
Maintain expert knowledge of products, including guitars and recording equipment, and help improve product knowledge among others.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships and help fellow Associates foster relationships with customers and the local music community.
Organize displays, restock shelves, and maintain the store.
Guide and mentor fellow team members and support them during customer interactions and operational tasks.
Open and close the store as needed as a keyholding team member.
