About The Position

Guitar Center is seeking a Senior Sales Associate who is passionate about music and sales and can help create a welcoming, vibrant store experience. The role involves helping customers discover instruments and equipment that suit their musical interests, building customer relationships, and contributing to a strong local music community. The associate is also expected to support and mentor fellow team members, help with store operations, and serve as a keyholder who may open or close the store as needed.

The position offers $17.54–$21.92 per hour plus commission, depending on background and experience. Eligible musician employees may use gig leave to take time off to perform or tour and return to their job afterward. The role requires flexibility to work additional hours when needed, including nights and weekends.

Requirements

• Passion for music and a solid understanding of instruments and music products.
• Proven sales track record and ability to exceed targets.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming environment and help customers find gear suited to their musical interests.
• Achieve and exceed sales targets, including upselling and cross-selling instruments and accessories.
• Maintain expert knowledge of products, including guitars and recording equipment, and help improve colleagues’ product knowledge.
• Build strong customer relationships and help fellow associates develop relationships with customers and the local music community.
• Organize displays, restock shelves, and maintain the store.
• Guide and mentor team members and support them with customer interactions and operational tasks.
• Open and close the store as needed as a keyholding team member.
