About The Position

Guitar Center is seeking a Senior Sales Associate who is passionate about music and skilled in sales, customer service, and team leadership. The role creates a welcoming store experience, helps customers select instruments and other gear, and contributes to sales goals and the success of fellow Associates. It also involves maintaining product knowledge, building customer relationships, merchandising and maintaining the store, and supporting store operations. As a keyholding team member, the Associate may open and close the store as needed.

The position is suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment, communicates effectively, solves problems, and can motivate and mentor colleagues. Flexibility to work additional hours and nights or weekends as needed is expected. Musician employees may use gig leave to take time off to perform or tour and return to their jobs afterward.

Requirements

• Passion for music and a solid understanding of a range of instruments and products.
• A proven track record in sales and ability to exceed targets.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to influence and inspire others to achieve shared goals.
• Flexibility to work additional hours and nights and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming environment and help customers find instruments and gear suited to their needs.
• Achieve and exceed sales targets, including upselling and cross-selling instruments and accessories.
• Maintain expert knowledge of products and help increase the product knowledge of other team members.
• Build and maintain customer relationships and help Associates develop relationships in the local music community.
• Organize displays, restock shelves, and maintain the store.
• Guide and mentor team members, supporting them with customer interactions and operational tasks.
• Open and close the store as needed as a keyholding team member.
