About The Position

Guitar Center is seeking a Senior Sales Associate who is passionate about music and brings sales ability, leadership, and a strong customer-service mindset. The role focuses on helping customers explore musical interests and find appropriate instruments, gear, and accessories while supporting sales goals and fostering a welcoming store experience.

The Senior Sales Associate maintains product knowledge, builds customer relationships, supports and mentors fellow associates, and helps keep the store organized and well-stocked. As a keyholding member of the store, the associate may open or close the store as needed. The position offers a creative retail environment and the opportunity for employee musicians to use gig leave to take time off for a tour and return to their job afterward.

Requirements

• Passion for music and a solid understanding of various instruments and products.
• Proven sales track record and ability to exceed sales targets.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to influence and inspire others toward shared goals.
• Willingness to work additional hours if needed and work nights and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming environment and help customers find instruments and gear suited to their musical interests.
• Meet or exceed sales targets and recommend complementary products through upselling and cross-selling.
• Maintain expert-level knowledge of products, including guitars and recording equipment, and help improve colleagues’ product knowledge.
• Build strong customer relationships and help other associates develop customer relationships and connections in the local music community.
• Organize displays, restock shelves, and maintain the store.
• Guide and mentor team members and support them with customer interactions and operational tasks.
• Open and close the store as needed as a keyholding team member.
