About The Position

Guitar Center’s Operations Associate supports store operations by shipping and receiving inventory, administering daily tasks, and ensuring products are merchandised to create a great customer experience. The role contributes to Guitar Center’s mission of nurturing lifelong musicians and making music accessible to musicians and non-musicians alike. Successful associates collaborate with teammates, focus on customers, take initiative, stay organized in a fast-paced environment, protect people and assets by following protocols, and learn the technology and retail systems needed for the role.

Requirements

• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to work in a loud environment for 5–8 hours.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to collaborate and build good working relationships with others.
• Ability to provide an excellent customer experience and connect with customers meaningfully.
• Ability to identify opportunities and issues, follow through on work, and learn quickly.
• Strong organizational skills, including time management, multitasking, attention to detail, and completing tasks thoroughly and promptly in a fast-paced, high-urgency environment.
• Ability to learn and use technology, retail systems, equipment, and computer programs needed for the role.
• Ability to learn and follow protocols and guidelines to protect assets and people.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks related to inventory control.
• Ship and receive gear and other items.
• Prepare and execute inventory cycle counts.
• Stock and merchandise products according to a planogram.
• Print and place signage and price signs (POP).
• Handle cash.
• Maintain awareness of and help control shrink.
• Complete additional duties as assigned.
