Sr. Product Manager

Safe-Guard Products International•Atlanta, GA
•Hybrid

About The Position

Safe-Guard administers protection products sold by dealerships for major automotive brands in North America. The software supporting this business enables dealers to quote and sell contracts, process remittances and reporting, manage claims, and enables consumers to purchase products directly from automotive brands. Safe-Guard is building a product management function to manage this software portfolio with clear ownership, roadmaps, and measurable outcomes. The Sr. Product Manager owns two to three client-facing products end to end, from defining product direction and roadmaps to measuring results. The role sets priorities and direction while partnering with project managers, business analysts, engineering leads, architects, and designers to execute within their respective disciplines. The product manager is expected to communicate product direction, rationale, priorities, upcoming delivery, performance, and risks clearly. The role works with a dedicated development pod and regularly engages dealers and OEM partners in the field. Development resides within IT, with capacity dedicated to product initiatives. Safe-Guard is also moving toward agent-led delivery, with product managers providing human oversight and approval of agent-produced work. The position is hybrid and onsite Monday through Thursday in Sandy Springs, Atlanta, Georgia.

Requirements

  • Seven or more years of product management experience.
  • At least three years owning a B2B, platform, or workflow product end to end.
  • A track record of shipping software that people adopted, and ability to discuss unsuccessful outcomes as clearly as successful ones.
  • Comfort with technical detail and ability to work through architecture and integration questions with engineers without being the engineer.
  • Direct customer discovery experience, including meeting users in their environment rather than relying only on research summaries.
  • Fluency with data, including defining metrics, obtaining the numbers, and changing direction when the data warrants it.
  • Credibility with executives and ability to present and defend recommendations to senior leaders.
  • A practical understanding of AI’s effects on both customer-facing products and development speed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in automotive F&I, insurance, warranty, or another regulated financial product.
  • Experience with dealer-facing, channel, or partner-facing software.
  • Experience replacing or consolidating a legacy platform while it remains in operation.
  • Experience working with AI-assisted or agent-led development teams.

Responsibilities

  • Own two to three products, including their users, workflows, integrations, dependencies, limitations, and business value, and serve as the primary business contact for questions and decisions about them.
  • Develop, manage, defend, and adjust product roadmaps that connect business strategy, dealer and OEM needs, competitive pressures, and technology capabilities; determine which initiatives should be deferred as new information emerges.
  • Engage directly with dealers and OEM partners to understand needs, observe product use, and translate insights into product requirements and improvements.
  • Translate senior leadership priorities into actionable product priorities, making recommendations based on customer value, business impact, effort, risk, and dependencies.
  • Establish product intent, align on acceptance criteria, and determine when deliverables are ready, with business analysts supporting documentation of technical requirements and details.
  • Partner with a dedicated development pod, own product sequencing, and maintain delivery visibility to identify potential risks early; engineering retains responsibility for architecture, security, and implementation decisions.
  • Define success metrics before development, own release readiness, and evaluate product performance after delivery against measures such as adoption, usage, revenue, and cost to serve.
  • Evaluate existing products and platforms for consolidation, modernization, or retirement, and develop and communicate the business case for these decisions.
  • Use the centralized intake process and prioritization forum to evaluate requests against established criteria.
  • Maintain roadmaps, requirements, and status updates in Asana.
  • Spend time regularly in the field with dealers and OEM partners to understand their experiences, challenges, and evolving needs.
  • Provide human oversight and approval of agent-produced work as the organization moves toward agent-led delivery.
