About The Position

The Sr. Manager, Market Operations is the end-to-end operational leader for building, operating, and scaling Gatik’s presence in an assigned region. Reporting to the Director, Market Operations, this role serves as the primary site lead and is accountable for local fleet performance, depot and yard logistics, fueling infrastructure and practices, safety compliance, customer SLA delivery, driver management, and third-party vendor operations. The position combines hands-on operational leadership with strategic regional growth, leading a multidisciplinary site team that manages live commercial autonomous freight routes in a technology-focused R&D environment. The role executes and improves the local operating playbook to maintain fleet reliability and uptime, efficiency, safety, and scalable market growth. It is onsite five days per week in Fort Worth, Texas.

Requirements

6–10+ years of operational leadership experience in freight logistics, depot operations, commercial fleet management, autonomous transportation, or high-velocity logistics hubs.
Proven experience directly managing multidisciplinary teams, including fleet, safety, customer service, field technicians, or shift supervisors.
Deep knowledge of middle-mile or last-mile freight flows, yard management systems, dock staging, and fleet fueling infrastructure.
Solid mechanical understanding of commercial vehicle systems, including brakes, powertrains, electrical systems, and preventive maintenance.
Comfort working in an R&D or technology environment.
Hands-on experience negotiating vendor SLAs, managing regional maintenance providers, and holding suppliers accountable.
Willingness to resolve real-time field disruptions onsite at local depots.
Business acumen and ability to connect daily depot operations with commercial growth, vendor costs, and market profitability.
Data-driven approach, including use of KPIs and diagnostic metrics to identify root causes and implement lasting fixes.
Excellent communication and leadership presence when representing Gatik to enterprise clients, municipal officials, and local workforces.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily facility operations, layout optimization, yard traffic, and infrastructure safety.
Direct inbound and outbound staging, route alignment, and schedules to meet customer SLAs.
Manage fueling routines, schedules, and protocols; optimize vehicle turnaround and reduce yard dwell time while maximizing active route hours.
Partner with the local Fleet Manager on medium- and heavy-duty vehicle maintenance, major repairs, lifecycle management, and vendor relationships.
Collaborate with AV Engineering, Hardware, and Product teams on field testing, sensor calibrations, software and hardware upgrades, and diagnostic troubleshooting.
Serve as the primary link between local technicians and central engineering to expedite vehicle return-to-service cycles.
Lead recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and performance management for safety drivers, field operators, and yard technicians.
Establish shift handover protocols, manage labor and overtime, and drive accountability across shifts.
Ensure drivers are recertified on new AV software releases, emergency protocols, and local route hazards.
Enforce Gatik’s Safety Management System and PPE policies and promote a safety-first culture.
Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, IFTA, vehicle registration, DVIR, HOS, and local fuel storage and permitting regulations.
Direct incident response, vehicle recovery, root-cause investigations, and regulatory reporting in coordination with Safety and Compliance leadership.
Execute Gatik’s Market Launch Playbook to establish depots, customer hubs, and expansion routes using Leader Standard Work.
Support commercial growth by evaluating route feasibility and building relationships with municipal authorities, landlords, and regional partners.
Identify operational bottlenecks and improve efficiency to grow route volume without proportional increases in headcount or costs.
