About The Position

The Senior Manager, Commercial and Medical Systems serves as the interface between Information Technology and key business stakeholders across Commercial and Medical Information at Genetix Biotherapeutics. This role is responsible for ensuring alignment between business priorities and technology solutions, enabling scalable, compliant, and data-driven capabilities that support growth and improved patient outcomes. The Senior Manager works closely with the Associate Director, Commercial & Regulatory IT to understand evolving business strategies, translate them into actionable IT initiatives, and drive delivery through structured demand management and governance processes. A critical component of the role is building and sustaining strong, trust-based relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, acting as a strategic advisor and thought partner on how technology and digital customer engagement tools can enable more effective commercial execution and medical engagement. The role requires documenting, maintaining, and continuously evolving multi-year capability roadmaps across Commercial and Medical domains, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, data strategies, and regulatory considerations. The Senior Manager also provides thought leadership on emerging trends, such as omnichannel engagement, personalized medicine insights, and AI-enabled analytics, helping the business proactively leverage innovation to remain competitive. The ideal candidate is a strong problem solver who leads with curiosity rather than deep technical mastery of any single platform. They bring working familiarity with CRM and business systems concepts, are comfortable using process mapping to diagnose issues and design better workflows, and know how to use AI tools to quickly learn new domains, prototype solutions, and close skill gaps in real time. Success in this role requires a strategic mindset balanced with hands-on resourcefulness, excellent communication and influencing skills, and a proven ability to drive cross-functional collaboration — ensuring technology investments deliver measurable business value and support data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Data Sciences, Business Administration, Life Sciences, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
4+ years of progressive experience in IT, business relationship management, or business systems roles supporting Commercial and/or Medical functions within biopharma.
Strong problem-solving skills, with experience using process mapping or similar techniques to diagnose issues and design improved workflows.
Working familiarity with CRM concepts and platforms (e.g., Veeva CRM, Salesforce) — deep configuration expertise not required, but comfort partnering with technical teams on these platforms.
General familiarity with customer master data concepts and reporting/analytics tools (e.g., Power BI), sufficient to guide requirements and evaluate solutions.
Genuine curiosity about medical information systems, such as a Medical Information Center (MIC) and/or Veeva Vault MedComms, and willingness to build expertise on the job.
Demonstrated aptitude and enthusiasm for using AI tools to learn new domains quickly, accelerate delivery, and find solutions in areas outside of existing expertise.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technology direction.

Nice To Haves

Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Information Systems, or a related discipline.
Experience in a life sciences, diagnostics, or biopharma organization supporting Commercial and Medical functions.
Experience translating business needs into technology requirements and managing demand intake, prioritization, and delivery.
Exposure to CRM platforms (Veeva CRM, Salesforce), customer master data tools (e.g., Veeva Network), or medical information systems (MIC, Veeva Vault MedComms).
Experience with enterprise data & analytics tools (e.g., Power BI) and interest in advanced analytics or AI use cases.
Experience working in regulated environments (e.g., healthcare, life sciences, biotech), including awareness of compliance considerations (HIPAA, GDPR, promotional compliance, GxP where applicable).
Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks and business capability modeling.
Experience with portfolio management, governance frameworks, and value realization tracking for IT investments.
Strong change management experience, including stakeholder adoption strategies, training, and organizational readiness.
Experience with ITIL and project management.

Responsibilities

Monitor and interpret emerging trends in life sciences commercial and medical technology, including how AI and automation are reshaping what's possible.
Advise senior Commercial, Medical, and IT leaders on strategic opportunities, risks, and modernization pathways.
Facilitate cross-functional forums to align on Commercial and Medical technology strategy and innovation priorities.
Translate insights into actionable recommendations and investment proposals.
Develop multi-year capability roadmaps across CRM, customer master data, reporting and analytics, websites, and medical information systems.
Ensure roadmaps reflect business strategy, regulatory requirements, and enterprise architecture principles.
Manage investments using a transparent, value-based framework.
Maintain a living roadmap that guides annual planning, budgeting, and sequencing of initiatives.
Serve as product owner for CRM platforms, customer master data management, the reporting and analytics environment, and Commercial website/CMS properties.
Own the Medical Information Center (MIC) and Veeva Vault MedComms, including platform vision, governance, and release strategy.
Manage platform lifecycle, including upgrades, integrations, vendor relationships, and licensing — partnering with vendors and technical specialists to cover deep configuration work as needed.
Ensure platforms are secure, compliant, scalable, and optimized for user experience.
Drive standardization, interoperability, and data governance across the commercial and medical ecosystem.
Apply structured problem-solving and process mapping to diagnose root causes, simplify workflows, and design scalable solutions across Commercial and Medical systems.
Use AI tools to accelerate day-to-day work — researching unfamiliar technical concepts, drafting documentation, prototyping solutions, and closing skill gaps in areas outside of existing expertise.
Bring a builder's curiosity to new tools and platforms, staying comfortable learning quickly and adapting when the "right" technical answer isn't yet known.
Model resourceful, AI-augmented ways of working for the broader Commercial and Medical IT team.
Drive ITIL-based process excellence for the Commercial and Medical technology portfolio.
Manage Commercial and Medical technology investments and costs in line with the IT budget.
Provide day-to-day support and troubleshooting for CRM, reporting, website, MIC, and MedComms platforms, partnering with vendors and technical resources on deep platform-specific issues.
