Sr. Logistics Manager, Technical Program
About The Position
The Sr. Logistics Manager, Technical Program reduces costs and improves service to stores by managing assigned areas of logistics. The role provides direction and support for area operations and programs, contributes to strategic planning, and supplies technical logistics expertise along with store and retail expertise as needed. It plans resources and project timelines to meet competing priorities, develops and motivates assigned staff, and may have limited authority to negotiate inbound and/or outbound transportation costs. The position typically reports to Supply Chain Management and may oversee direct and indirect reports. It involves evaluating sensitive or complex situations, working within general policies and short-term goals to solve problems, and setting priorities and determining how to carry out general assignments. Overnight travel is typically required up to 50% of the time. Work is primarily in a comfortable indoor setting, generally seated with frequent opportunities to move about; occasionally, light articles may need to be moved or lifted. The role is regularly under pressure to meet deadlines or quotas and may involve difficult people-related or situational issues.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
- At least 6 years of work experience.
- Knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a job-related field of study.
Nice To Haves
- Nine to twelve years of experience preferred.
- Experience in the logistics field preferred.
- Management experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide support and direction for the area's efforts.
- Manage all aspects of assigned areas of operations and programs.
- Participate in strategic planning and facilitate action on plans for the assigned area.
- Provide technical logistics expertise and store/retail expertise as needed.
- Plan resources to complete competing priorities within the provided timeframe.
- Prepare project designs and timelines.
- Select, develop, and motivate assigned staff.
- May negotiate transportation costs for inbound and/or outbound freight, within limited authority.
