About The Position

The Sr. LIS Application Analyst will maintain standards of operation designed by the Administrative Laboratory Director, College of American Pathologists, Joint Commission of Accreditation of Hospitals and state (NJDOH) and federal (CLIA) regulations. This role will administer Hospital and Laboratory policies and procedures pertaining to the LIS, and assure employee conformance to LIS best practices. The analyst will act as a liaison with LIS vendors to correct any quality issues and works with vendors for resolution of any performance issues or installation of new hardware and software. This position manages the various LIS programs utilized by the Laboratory Personnel and monitors lab testing and the accuracy of data transfer and results transfer between multiple systems.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Science, Computer Science, Life Science, Technology, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or similar field required.
  • Knowledge of Hospital and Laboratory Operations, including instrument interfacing.
  • Work requires a high level of interpersonal skills and communication skills to interact efficiently with user departments, computer service representatives and other staff members.
  • A moderate level of analytical ability to diagnose and assess operating problems and implement corrective measures as needed.
  • Ability to manage detailed work, multiple projects, system failures, and deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • M.S. in Science, Computer Science, Life Science, Technology, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or MT/MLS (ASCP) preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of IT Analyst or Laboratory Information System Analyst experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Hospital and Laboratory billing preferred.
