Sr. Implementation Manager, MSP

CHG Healthcare•Midvale, UT

About The Position

The Sr. Implementation Manager, MSP is the operational owner of a managed service provider (MSP) client implementation after a contract is signed. The role combines client-facing implementation work, coordination of internal stakeholders and staffing vendors, and project management of named client implementations to ensure they are executed successfully. It sits within ECS Implementation and reports to the Manager, ECS Implementation Team. The role serves as the client contact for gathering MSP and operational-workflow requirements and gaining client buy-in on the implementation process. It is not an Account Management role and does not own the broader client relationship. Internally, the position acts as a program manager, directing stakeholders and holding them accountable to project plans; technology adoption is led by Locumsmart. Travel is estimated at 25% or more, based on client requests and needs. Depending on MSP client volume, the role may not be full-time initially, with Operational Strategy project work supplemented as capacity allows. The role may provide brief post-launch support before handing the client to ECS Account Management, and may be engaged again when the client adopts additional services or offerings.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in program/project management, client implementation, or account management.
  • Prior client-facing experience.
  • Demonstrated track record of leading cross-functional initiatives to completion.
  • Demonstrated experience planning and executing projects or programs, with specific delivery examples.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in healthcare staffing, locum tenens, or MSP/VMS operations is preferred over a general technical or SaaS project management background.
  • Working familiarity with VMS or contingent workforce platforms, ideally Locumsmart.
  • Basic contract literacy, including the ability to read and operationalize Master Services Agreements and Sub-Vendor Agreements.
  • Previous implementation and/or program experience is desired.
  • College degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own MSP implementations end to end after a contract is verbally agreed upon, coordinating across CHG divisions and Locumsmart leadership through kickoff and ongoing delivery.
  • Partner with clients to create implementation project plans and ensure proper execution.
  • Report milestones and program progress to stakeholders and executive leadership; raise red flags when an implementation is off track and identify successes that can be replicated.
  • Direct internal stakeholders on implementation activities and hold them accountable to the project plan.
  • Serve as the client point of contact for gathering MSP implementation requirements, outlining the implementation process, and gaining client buy-in.
  • Travel as needed to support client implementations; estimated travel is 25% or more depending on client request and need.
  • Track Locumsmart vendor outreach to introduce the program and connect vendors with the MSP Account Management team.
  • Verify that the contracts team executes Sub-Vendor Agreements (SVAs) with legacy and new staffing agencies for each MSP client, including the sub-vendor tiering strategy and dispute-resolution protocol for dual-agency provider conflicts.
  • Ensure the Account Management team builds the Job Requisition Approval Chain and Candidate Profile Auditing SOP for each client implementation, with support from the Program Team.
  • Verify that client data is appropriately set up, transferred, and ready for go-live.
  • Work with Locumsmart to ensure it drives adoption of the technology.
  • Provide brief post-go-live client support as needed to confirm implementation quality and address adjustments, then complete handoff to the ECS Account Management team.
