About The Position

Adventist Health Columbia Gorge is a 49-bed hospital and healthcare organization serving The Dalles and the surrounding Columbia River Gorge community. The Sr. Food Service Associate helps maintain cafeteria and dining areas, prepares work stations and supplies, supports cashiering and customer service, and assists with patient meal preparation and delivery. The role applies job knowledge and experience across activities of varying difficulty, using judgment to resolve moderately difficult issues or make recommendations.

Requirements

Oregon Food Handler (OFH) certification is required.
Driver's License (DL) is required.

Nice To Haves

High school education, GED, or equivalent is preferred.
Associate's or technical degree, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience, is preferred.
Two years of relevant experience is preferred.
SERV Safe certification or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform cash register functions, including charging and cash handling.
Greet customers and offer assistance.
Maintain proper care and handling of equipment and use correct serving utensils.
Complete cafeteria setup before service opens.
Maintain cleanliness in cafeteria and dining room areas.
Ensure cafeteria food items meet expectations for quality, presentation, and temperature.
Prepare meals using standardized recipes and serve according to dietary instructions and correct portion control.
Restock supplies, organize inventory locations, and ensure dining rooms and other locations have adequate supplies.
Assist with tray line activities, stocking, inventory, and cart distribution.
Assist with preparation and delivery of patient meals.
Meet deadlines for competencies, licenses, certifications, and education requirements established by local administration, Adventist Health, and regulatory agencies.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
