Sr. EV Installer
About The Position
Green Water and Power is seeking a Senior Level EV Installer to install commercial electric vehicle charging stations under the guidance of a certified electrician. The role includes AC and DC wiring, conduit installation and bending, wire pulling, charger mounting and programming, and mechanical and structural installation of chargers and related electrical equipment. The installer will help coordinate materials, communicate project updates to on-site customer contacts, and mentor junior installers. The position offers career advancement opportunities toward becoming a certified electrician or construction manager and requires travel to job sites, with possible overnight stays. Overtime and weekend work may be necessary to meet project deadlines, and work hours may be extended.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in electrical installation, construction, or a related field.
- EVITP Certificate, with the goal of obtaining a certified electrician license.
- Knowledge of the NEC, particularly Article 690, and local electrical codes and regulations.
- Proficiency in electrical wiring, conductor deployment, and troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to customer service.
- Experience safely using hand-held power tools.
- OSHA 10 certification.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift and maneuver equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Strong dedication to safety and following safety protocols.
- Flexibility to work in diverse environments, including extreme temperatures and crawl spaces, and to adapt to changing project demands.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends when necessary, maintain flexible work hours, and be prepared for extended workdays.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.
Responsibilities
- Install commercial electric vehicle charging stations under the guidance of certified electricians.
- Perform AC and DC electrical wiring for EV charger systems.
- Install and bend conduit, pull wires, mount chargers, and program EV charging stations.
- Mechanically and structurally mount EV chargers and related electrical equipment.
- Keep tools and equipment in good working order and ensure the project site complies with OSHA safety requirements.
- Coordinate procurement and timely delivery of materials to the job site.
- Provide on-site customer contacts with updates on project status and maintain positive customer interactions.
- Manage, mentor, and train junior installers to keep them on task throughout the workday.
- Participate in company training sessions as required.
- Complete other assignments and special projects as requested by management.
